Sufix 832 is one of the most popular braid lines in fishing today. Sufix 832 claims to be the toughest most durable braid on the market, and customers seem to agree.
832 is constructed from 8 fibers and 32 weaves per inch. The fibers improve the lines durability and resistance to nicks and dings, and improves castability. It has an extremely small diameter which give you all the strength you need without the rope-like appearance.
Sufix 832 Braid Fishing Line
Sufix 832 is offered from 6 lb to 80 lb test. Customers consistently rate it as one of the best fishing lines available.
A lot of the criticisms about braid line are due to improper use or lack of knowledge. A lot of people who switch from a mono line to using a braid line initially use the same test. However, braided line is much smaller in diameter than mono, so if line visibility is a concern for you, you can up the strength of your line while still keeping the same (or smaller) diameter. For example, 20 lb test Sufix 832 has the same diameter as a 6 lb test mono line.
Also, some people stray away from braid because it has a tendency to fray as its made up of multiple wound fibers. Yes, all braids will eventually fray, but Sufix 832 will put up with A LOT of abuse before you see any signs of fraying, and I guarantee that you will get more life out of it than any mono line out there. Will it fray eventually? Absolutely, and when it does, you should immediately retie as it affects line strength, but know that you will probably catch many many fish before running into problems with fraying with this line.
Sufix line claims to have 3x the knotted strength of its competitors, although this is surely debatable. Lastly, fading seems to be a non issue with this line. It retains its color well thanks to their patented TGP technology.
When Should You Use This Line?
If you are looking to use a braided line, this is one of the best options out there. Whether you want to tie on 50 lb test and throw it into the heaviest cover around, or tie on a fluoro leader and drop shot down to 100 ft, this line can do it. Of course, one of the best things about braided line is that it has little to no stretch. Setting a hook is instantaneous and you will see dramatic increases in your hookup ratio if you haven’t thrown braid before.
People have used this line in all kinds of situations – freshwater or saltwater and everything in between. I could go on and on about this line, but you should read what previous customers say for themselves here.
If you are looking for a solid all around braid, there isn’t anything better than Sufix 832.
